A really good idea for Z date is of course Zoo. January isn't really the season for Zoos and a lot are closed at this time of year, plus it isn't easy to get to one when neither of us can drive. So Kirsty chose for us to go to Zizzi for dinner. We spent the day in Town. We looked around Forbidden Planet and Waterstones, bought a Valentine's bath bomb from Lush, found the Hogwarts cushions we have been looking for in Primark and went to Zizzi where we had a Spaghetti Bolognese each and a pizza to share. After that we went to the cinema to watch Lion which was so good. It was a really nice date to end our year of Alphabet Dating on.

Alphabet Dating - X Date!
X Date was at the end of December so it was perfect for Xmas! We try to incorporate alphabet dates into anniversaries or birthdays so we can save money, so this was good timing. We celebrated Christmas together, which including putting up the trees together, going shopping for presents, and watching Moana on Christmas Eve. We had a moment to ourselves on Christmas Day when we opened presents from each other, and are still going to spend a few hours together where we play board games without distractions.

Alphabet Dating - V Date!
For special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, holidays - we incorporate the alphabet dates so we aren't trying to find the money for 2 dates in one week. V Date falls in November around Kirsty's Birthday so it was Kirsty's choice for what we did. She decided to do another escape room for her Birthday. There were 2 escape rooms beginning with V - the one we preferred is called Vacancy and is themed around a hotel room. But that was fully booked. So we chose Virus which is about a Zombie outbreak. We failed. It was very hard. Possibly because we don't know much about zombies. We did really well in the first escape room we did because we were interested in the topic so maybe a Zombie themed room was a bad choice. We will not give up though! We will escape one day! After we did the room, we went in some shops and Kirsty bought a book which then set off the alarms in every other shop we went in. For dinner we had TGI Fridays with Kirsty's birthday money which was delicious as always. We sat on the upper level and it was decorated for Christmas and looked very pretty. We watched Arrival at the cinema which was really good, we knew there was a twist in but had no idea where or what it was so all the way through we were trying to work it out. When we got home we lit the Birthday cake and read together. Then while she was in bed I drew her a last birthday present - a flowery border around a cute love quote to give her the next day.

Alphabet Dating - P Date!
For P Date we spent the weekend at Manchester Pride. On the Sunday of Pride we decided to use free cinema tickets to watch The Purge: Election Year and whilst we were there we had Pizza Hut. These are the photos from our date day and from the Pride Parade.

Alphabet Dating - K Date!
For K Date I decided to do a Kings and Queens date, where we dress extra fancy and go out on a date. We went to Pizza Hut first and had Pizza, chicken bites and chips. Then we went to the cinema to see The Boss and played Bowling after. We also made chocolate cakes the next day because I wanted to include something in the Kitchen. We decorated the cakes with marshmallows and chocolate buttons and made them look like crowns.

Trafford Centre Date Night
We hadn't had a proper date night to ourselves where we get dressed up and have a meal together for a while.
We used our Tesco clubcard points to get Odeon cinema tickets and we booked to see The Jungle Book. Kirsty finished work at 2pm so we decided to go shopping first, then have Pizza Hut. It was delicious.
We got ice cream from Bradwells for dessert then wandered around the Disney Store and Waterstones before going to the cinema.
The film was really good, better than I expected. It was a really fun date and we got some cute photos.

Alphabet Dating - C Date!
Our C date fell in February so we used it as our Valentine's day date and went to the Cinema.
I know this is a really basic C date idea but it's still a good one. We actually went twice that weekend to make it a bit more special.
We also went to TGI Fridays where I had Chicken Fingers and Cheese sticks. Then we had Coke and Crisps in the Cinema.
The first time we watched Goosebumps and the second time we watched The 5th Wave. Both films are really good and I recommend them to everyone. Especially The 5th Wave.
