Alphabet Dating - Z Date!

A really good idea for Z date is of course Zoo. January isn't really the season for Zoos and a lot are closed at this time of year, plus it isn't easy to get to one when neither of us can drive. So Kirsty chose for us to go to Zizzi for dinner. We spent the day in Town. We looked around Forbidden Planet and Waterstones, bought a Valentine's bath bomb from Lush, found the Hogwarts cushions we have been looking for in Primark and went to Zizzi where we had a Spaghetti Bolognese each and a pizza to share. After that we went to the cinema to watch Lion which was so good. It was a really nice date to end our year of Alphabet Dating on.

Alphabet Dating - X Date!

X Date was at the end of December so it was perfect for Xmas! We try to incorporate alphabet dates into anniversaries or birthdays so we can save money, so this was good timing. We celebrated Christmas together, which including putting up the trees together, going shopping for presents, and watching Moana on Christmas Eve. We had a moment to ourselves on Christmas Day when we opened presents from each other, and are still going to spend a few hours together where we play board games without distractions.

Trafford Centre Date Night

We hadn't had a proper date night to ourselves where we get dressed up and have a meal together for a while.
We used our Tesco clubcard points to get Odeon cinema tickets and we booked to see The Jungle Book. Kirsty finished work at 2pm so we decided to go shopping first, then have Pizza Hut. It was delicious.
We got ice cream from Bradwells for dessert then wandered around the Disney Store and Waterstones before going to the cinema.
The film was really good, better than I expected. It was a really fun date and we got some cute photos.

Alphabet Dating - E Date!

For our E date we went to the Museum of Science and Industry to see an Exhibition there. The exhibition was called Cravings and was all about the scientific side to foods we eat and how overeating can affect this. It was really interesting but had some research into overfeeding mice and seeing how obesity affects them which I didn't like so I didn't read that section. We had Energy Drinks whilst we walked around.
After that we went for food - Eating! We had DiMaggios which is a fast food place that sells pizza and pasta. Then we just spent the rest of the day shopping. It was a really fun, easy date and was quite Educational!

Alphabet Dating - D Date!

Our D date was in the second half of February, and Kirsty chose leap day for us to do it on. It made it extra special because I always like to make sure I spend the extra day doing something fun. It was hard to come up with something beginning with D that wasn't something simple like dinner/dining out.
She managed to find a street in York called The Shambles which looks similar to Diagon Alley. It's rumoured that the set design team used this street as inspiration.
We also drew the street because we both love Drawing. I'm going to colour mine in funky colours eventually but these are the initial sketches we did on the day.
After that we walked around some shops and had pizza hut before getting the train back home.
It was a really fun, exciting date for a special day of the year!

Why Autumn Is My Favourite Season

Summer used to be my favourite season when I was at school, purely for the Summer holidays. Summer in the UK is over the months of June, July and August and the school Summer holidays are 6 weeks of July and August. This obviously meant 6 weeks of free time, sleeping in, going on mini breaks and sleepovers on weeknights. However, I have always hated the sun. I hate feeling too hot and not being able to do anything about it. I would never wear a dress, I didn't even own dresses between the ages of 12 and 18. I did own a lot of jackets and jumpers though so I was always warm in Winter.
I think the reason Autumn wasn't my favourite when I was younger was because it was the time when school started again and you have to get back into a routine. After a 6 week break there is homework every night and 7am starts 5 days a week. I wouldn't look forward to it and I wouldn't enjoy it.

I'm 24 now, I haven't been in education for a while and Autumn has been my favourite for the past few years. It's a welcome break from the heat of Summer but it's not too cold outside. I find Winter can leave you with a cold nose and chapped lips and you start to want to stay indoors, but Autumn is nicer.
I love going for walks in the afternoon while it's still light but also being outside in the early evening as the sun is setting.

I love the different colours the leaves change and that it completely changes the way parks look. I find oranges, reds and browns scattered on the ground a lot nicer to look at than just green grass.

I love being able to wear lots of layers, I find it hard to choose which clothes to wear because I have so many, so in Autumn I can wear a few at once! I also love being able to wear scarves and gloves.

There are three main events that I love in Autumn. The first is Halloween of course. Dressing up and watching a horror film with a takeaway is one of my favourite things to do.

The second is Bonfire Night, possibly my favourite night of the whole year. I get to wear all of my layers and watch fireworks and light sparklers.

The third is Christmas shopping. All of the shops start stocking festive products and I start writing my Christmas list and buying things for other people. The Manchester Christmas markets are one of my favourite Christmas traditions.

There is also, of course, my fiancees birthday in November! I love being able to spend the day with her and watch her open presents.

Spring is a close second favourite, because it includes Easter and my birthday and the weather is similar to Autumn, but there is a lot more green!

Nail Varnish Review - Roll In The Grass - Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine By Rita Ora

I love bright coloured and glittery nail varnish, I have a few reds, pinks, and purples that I wore during Winter but nothing brigher. So I really wanted to update my collection with a new Spring colour.

I've bought a few Rimmel London nail varnishes and really love the quality, they dry really fast and only chip slightly after a few days; so their new Rita Ora range is perfect for me.

The labels on the bottles have flowers which match the colours of the varnish, and the names of the colours are really Summery and fun.

I've only started wearing nail varnish over the past few months so some of the colours are definitely out of my usual comfort zone but still subtle enough for me to try out. I'm hoping to get Tangerine Tent, the bright orange colour, which is something I would never normally go for.

For my first brighter colour, I chose a spring green because I've never had green before - it's called Roll in the grass which I love. I put it on a few days ago and it's lasted really well. It makes me feel really happy and confident.

 

I will be getting a few more colours soon to wear throughout Spring and Summer.

I definitely recommend buying these for Spring or upcoming Festivals, the colours are perfect and the quality is amazing for the price.
